Guild Wars - Wow!
After whining about the inefficiencies and time-consuming demands of today's PC games last weekend, I have made a wondrous discovery: Guild Wars.
Everything I was complaining about in my post last weekend seems to have been addressed in this hybrid game that is part MMORPG and part classic RPG:
Easy load and unload? Check.
No corporate logos to click through when it loads? Check.
No need for a CD? Check.
Fun questing, even for beginners? Check.
Easy to have a good experience in a half hour or hour? Check.
No monthly fees? Check.
Haven't played enough to know whether it is actually any fun yet, but I've got to give credit to the developers of this one for being savvy enough to figure out what I'm looking for in terms of the easy load/easy unload/quick play experience.
