Frequetly Avoided Questions

I'm becoming a sucker for good, big questions. The longer I reflect on this whole idea of following Jesus, and the more I actually do it, the more I realize that it is more important to wrestle with hard questions - perhaps never even finding a full answer - than to find trite answers to easy ones.
For that reason, I am already looking forward to a book that will be coming out in November called Frequently Avoided Questions. Based on sociological research, the book will list and confront the primary questions that the "unchurched" population is asking about Christianity.

These are great questions. Much better than many that are being asked in mainstream evangelical bible classes and small group curriculum. They have to do with our responses to issues like homosexuality and evolution. They have to do with what hell is all about and whether one has to be a political conservative to be a follower of Jesus. They have to do with whether a Chrisitan is obligated to "sell" Jesus and the nature of scripture. The book will look at traditional answers to these questions and then try to also pose some different answers that may more directly address the issues that are being raised by "outsiders."

Can't wait to read this one.
