Cheney and Guns: Let the Satire Commence!

Exactly how many Iraqi war analogies are we going to have to suffer through in connection with Cheney's accidental shooting of Houston attorney Harry Whittington? I missed the late night talk shows yesterday, but I'm betting that Leno, Letterman, and company are already getting into the act.

This event has some serious potential when it comes to long-term comedic value. It has it all: Texans, guns, Texans with guns, rich lawyers, injured lawyers, conservative politicians, conservative politicians shooting at rich lawyers, and the discharge of a firearm under circumstances that reflect some seriously questionable judgment.

Scott Adams, of Dilbert fame, has made my favorite observation to date: "I think it's the worst kind of pandering to shoot a lawyer just because your popularity is low. But I'll bet it works."

Actually, I don't think I'd mind if they declared open season on lawyers for a day or two. I think that I'm faster than most of them, and more clever at disguising myself as a "normal" person, so I'd probably survive the purging. Then, I'd have much less competition for business...

Any opportunity to recieve apologies for the Iraqi war..I am all for it.
The whole event is ironically funny but it is kinda weird that Cheney didn't even go to the hospital to visit his friend he just shot....oh well,
Politics..its just too deep or maybe too shallow for me!
