The Last Week
Only a moment to post today. I've been reading The Last Week : A Day-by-Day Account of Jesus's Final Week in Jerusalem
, and all I can say is "wow!" A fascinating, informative exposition of the last few chapters of Mark, focusing on the historical/political circumstances that led to the death of Jesus and Mark's call to discipleship.
[An alert to potential readers: the authors of the book are true theological liberals. Their views of the historicity of scripture and their willingless to "write off" some aspects of scripture are a little different from mine. However, they are quite sensitive to and generous toward evangelical perspectives (where I find my roots), and I don't hesitate to recommend it.]
