Thursday Miscellany

  • Greg Kendall-Ball asked an intriguing question about the future of churches of Christ on his blog yesterday, and it has generated a terrific conversation. You can check it out here.
  • My 13 year-old daughter has her first real-world dancing gig! She is part of the cast in Die Fledermaus, an Abilene Collegiate Opera production. Some of the dancers in her studio were asked to perform in a small scene at the end of Act I. I saw a dress rehearsal last night - and it was fantastic. (More to come on this subject in a later post...)
  • Its Thursday! You know what that means? A half hour of Joy, followed by a half hour of Dwight. I honestly can't decide which character I think is funnier. And when it comes time to fire up the TiVo late tonight, it will be a tough call deciding which one to watch first...

Oh, c'mon, Matt, you HAVE to watch Earl before The Office. It's chronological. It's alphabetical. It's a cosmic necessity.

We got a little glimpse into the psyche of Dwight last night, didn't we? A dark, scary place.

And Jim...Pam...why can't you crazy kids just get together?

(Was I the only one cracking up at all the LOTR stuff in Earl last night?)

Relax. The universe is still aligned: I only watched Earl last night. The Office still awaits.

The LOTR stuff WAS funny. What had me rolling on the floor was this:

Here these guys go through this elaborate plan to infiltrate the coporate headquarters for the hot dog franchise. I was expecting some sort-of Ocean's Eleven heist.

Instead, what is the game plan? Hide until everyone leaves and make off with OFFICE SUPPLIES!

OH NO, WAIT! LETS STEAL A COPY MACHINE THAT WONT EVEN FIT THROUGH THE DOOR, MUCH LESS THE ELEVATOR!

Hilarious.
